Anyone here use big rides? I mean like 24" or bigger.

Lusting for a 24" medium/heavy ride of some sort, and a 26" wouldn't go amiss at all either...Huge, washy, low-pitched... MMMMMM.

My biggest cymbal at the moment is a 22" Sabian AA Rock Ride. Nice pie. I've owned some big beauts in the past (24" RUDE Ride/Crash, 24" Formula 602, 22" Paiste 5o5), but (regrettably...ahh, youth) sold'em off for pocket money.

Heard a 24" 602 the other day, sounded amazing!

Dream come true

Post  peterbrittenden on Sun Nov 15, 2009 9:10 pm

I've just bought myself a 24" Dream Contact ride. Really pleased with it....fits in brilliantly with the 22" HH Sabian and 20" 2002 I also use. Its one of the most musical cymbals I've ever heard...perhaps a tad washy for the rock that we play but I love the versatility it brings. Even "crashable".

Really liked the sound of those paiste giant beat cymbals they got up at Atwaters. 24 ride is lovely would be beutifull for jazz, country and acousticy stuff.

I do love my 24" 2002, although I don't get much of a chance to play it. What was surprising about the cymbal is how good it feels to play.
