Drums outside of the kit

Post  granstar on Sat Oct 03, 2009 8:59 pm

I also am hammering a celtic bodran, pronounced bowran. I know there are drummers out there who play other styles of single drum for folk, festivals, cultural etc.

Anyway if anyone interested, here is a good site for goatwhackers ..

I have a bodhran and a table but they don't get much action. Used to have the full perc set up.

Probally told this one, any way ... a mate got an african drum sent over. As the drum had a rope tied head at each end, customs decided to cut a square hole in one end to check for creepy crawlies.
My bodran i imported from Ireland and it had to be fumigated, destroyed, or returned, i had it sprayed.

Just a warning of what can happen if importing to NZ. Evil or Very Mad
