Drum Racks... thoughts/opinions?

Post  Mark [Admin] on Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:50 pm

Thinking of getting a rack although I had one years ago and it wasn't very good. My first rack had straight bars and the 'Y' frame
style legs, slipped and was in general annoying. The new curved gibralter ones look to have solved those issues anyone use one?

yeah not sure bout the round pipe aye, i like the pearls because they're square so no chance of the clamps rolling on the pipe.

Personally, I think that setups can be cleaner without a rack, guess it depends on how big your setup is though.

I'm with Bryan.
They look like a pain to set up and cart about if you are on the move a lot. I use clamp on arms attached to my cymbal stands for isolating toms from kick, or adding extra cymbals.

Happy NY Guys! - i've never used a drum rack but i owned an old pearl one for a little while before i sold it again - they seemed pretty bulky - i think it would be more beneficial to players with bigger setups i.e. lots of toms and cymbals. cheers M
