good heavy cymbals?

Post  rocketshiptown on Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:06 am

hey im a beginner drummer, decided to get my first decent entry kit at the start of the year and im really not satisfied with the stock cymbals.

they are paiste pst3's 14" hat 16" crash and 20" ride, im leaning towards some bigger sizes in the future, maybe 18" 19" crashes and 22'' or 24" ride
i hit my drums pretty hard and im worried the cymbals are gona break, ive already put a dent in my crash

what cymbal/ cymbal series would be a good upgrade, dont worry about price. this is kinda a dream for me to aim towards hahaha

if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it

If you're a heavy hitter then, Zildjian Z3's or Z series, or any Paiste heavy series. The paiste dark energy cymbals
sound awesome. My advice is go try out a bunch first sabian also has some good offerings.

on a budget have a look at the Paiste PST 5. Incredibly good value for money.

Dude you must hit like Thor or something, I'm a very heavy hitter and I've never managed that. Put a crack through a 12" oriental china but thats it.
