Hi nakidrummerkid welcome aboard!
I'm sorry I can't help you out with the Zil's, I play Paiste, but Mark is right!
If you want new cymbals (at less than NZ retail) or secondhand ones you can't beat Ebay when our dollar is strong.
Just watch shipping prices, they're rising with the cost of fuel and can sometimes be more than the goods you're buying. So it pays to enquire before bidding if shipping to NZ isn't listed.
Good Luck!

nakidrummerkid...my advice would be to aim high...get the best you can afford.
If looking at Paistes and playing just about any style Alphas would be the first series to look at. They're made of 2oo2 bronze, nicely worked and sound great.
If you're into seriously heavy playing Rudes are suitable but a little more expensive.
Upwards from there are 2oo2's, Signatures and Traditionals but you need a fair amount of dosh to set yourself up with those series. The new 20 Series I know nothing about.
I'm not familiar with the cheaper lines, below Alpha but there are sound clips in the Paiste site to have a listen to and your local dealer will let you hit some to see what you like!
Good luck!

i second this - see my post in 'Cymbal talk' but i rate Anatolian as well - especially the value for money

Yes, ZBT's are a budget line and bend and dent like crap. Take it back and get a replacement - that will only solve the problem in the short term, so maybe look at upgrading your cymbals.

go talk to Lise at jansen get some Anatolians, sure they don't have the big name, but for the price you pay for them they sounds mint, she hooked me a 14" ultimate china and its probably one of the best china's in its size and they are roughly half the price of zildjians, just say jono recommended you and she'll either give you a mean deal or slap you.
