trick for young players

Mad catch the vintage Ludwig bass drum on T E ,states its a 26" ,but those mahogany models were actually 25 and 3/4 of an inch diameter ... so 26" heads wont fit,you have to use vintage velum (calf) heads which you cant buy ? or if you did manage to find a pair of 70-80 year old skins you wouldn't want to put a kick pedal on ,it would destroy it,they were a mallet played design .

Well spotted. I didn't see that. Maybe because I haven't looked on TE for months if not years. Having said that, from what you say it would be no more than a display piece. No room for display pieces here though.

study thats probably why you find these with painted heads have had lights installed inside them, great furniture if you got room .
