Ajax Bass drum restoration

Post  Mutzaaa on Mon Oct 20, 2008 8:29 am

Hi all,
I've recently acquired an 14 X 18 Ajax bass drum which is great, however
the one of the re-inforcing hoops needs to be re-glued. Does anyone have any
info regarding the correct glue to use and how to correctly clamp the hoop
whilst it drys ?

Also, I'm going to put some bass drum spurs on it and look at buying some
sort of riser option ( I think DW does something like this )

Anyone have an thoughts on this ?

Many thanks !

with regards to the riser, I see that Gibralter and Mapex both do a 2"
drum riser, but if anyone knows of a superior product, please let me know.

Cheers !

Jansen in auckland sell a tamburo bass drum riser that looks ok. Do you need a snare drum for your ajax? I have a 14x5" new fidelity dual century which i've just restored PM if interested.
